Before the Admissions Coach

Harry was exceptionally strong academically as evidenced by his predicted A-Level grades, ACT score and participation in a laundry list of competitions including the Physics Olympiad. Yet, he was unsure which engineering discipline was best suited to him and whether to pursue his studies in the U.K. or the U.S. Moreover, apart from his academic feats, he had little involvement in other extracurricular activities

After the Admissions Coach

With Harry's lack of extracurricular activities, we decided to focus his application on U.K. universities, including Oxford. As he was unsure which engineering discipline to pick, we advised him to apply for Engineering Science at Oxford as this program would give him exposure to engineering before he would need to declare his specialization in the final year. The difficult part for Harry was the interview at Oxford and the Imperial International Supplement. Similar to most science-oriented students, clear expression of his thoughts was a weakness. As we were familiar with what Oxford was looking for in the interview, we trained Harry in his self expression, logical construction of answers, body language, and ability to handle unexpected questions

Harry was accepted to all the universities he applied to in the U.K. including University of Oxford, Imperial College, University of Bath and Durham University
