Before the Admissions Coach

I met Sophie in November, two months before all her boarding school applications were due. She had made a start on the applications but was unclear as to the quality of her essays, how to schedule and prepare for the interviews, how to coordinate with her current school with the required documentation and which boarding schools were best suited to her.

After the Admissions Coach

Sophie was an expressive writer, with her drafts often rambling well beyond the word limit, leaving the reader exhausted. I helped Sophie to develop clarity, conciseness and the injection of central themes in her writing. From understanding Sophie, she was atypical girl, having a wide range of interests in coding, writing fantasy worlds, being an environmental advocate and a love of Formula One. We used that to her advantage in her interviews as they were often 45 minutes of conversation filled with joy and laughter.

Sophie was accepted to Phillips Andover Academy, The Webb Schools, Loomis Chaffee, Brooks Academy and Berkshire.
